SUMMARY:Works on Paper Highlights Talk: Caricature in Callot and Goya
DESCRIPTION:Curatorial Assistant Sophie Kerwin presents a close look at the inventive etchings of French artist Jacques Callot (1592–1635) and Spanish artist Francisco de Goya (1746–1828). In exploring these artists’ novel use of caricature, whether political, social, or religious, this talk also complements the special exhibition José Guadalupe Posada: Symbols, Skeletons, and Satire.\nVisit the Manton Study Center for Works on Paper, which houses the Clark’s collection of more than 6,500 prints, drawings, and photographs. Each week, discover a unique selection of rarely exhibited works on paper with a member of the curatorial department.
