DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with The Guthrie Center. Norman Rockwell Museum will celebrate American independence and democracy with a day of holiday programming. Listen to a public recitation of the Declaration of Independence read by Berkshire County community leaders and residents. Enjoy live music by folksinger Doug Mishkin and by performers Annie and Abe Guthrie. Experience Norman Rockwell’s iconic paintings exploring the themes of freedom and civil rights and reflect on what these ideals mean today. Make your own art to celebrate America’s birthday. Bring your picnic blanket and spend the afternoon enjoying the music and the beautiful Berkshire views.\n \nFree with museum admission. Public reading and afternoon music is open to everyone.\nPicnic lunches are available for purchase at the Museum’s café.\nGallery talks are at 10:15, 11:00, 11:45, 12:15 pm (Spanish), 3 pm, and 3:30 pm.\nDoug Mishkin performs in the galleries from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm\nReading of the Declaration of Independence starts at 1 pm\nAnnie and Abe Guthrie will perform following the reading.\n
