Rodin’s Thinkers

Emmelyn Butterfield-Rosen, associate director of the Williams Graduate Program in the History of Art at the Clark Art Institute, sketches Rodin’s path between two of his great monumental works, The Thinker and the Monument to Balzac. This journey marks a striking transition in Rodin’s representations of thinking and thought.
